KSJI Port Harcourt Grand Breaks Ground for Grand Temple at Igwuruta
The Port Harcourt Grand marked a significant milestone on Friday, 16th October 2026, with the groundbreaking ceremony for the Grand Temple at the Catholic Diocese of Port Harcourt Pastoral Center, Igwuruta, Rivers State.
The historic occasion began with a celebration of Holy Mass at 10.00 a.m., as the Order committed the project and itself to Almighty God for His blessings, guidance, and protection.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of the Supreme Subordinate Commandery President, Major General Joachim Amambgo, and the Supreme Subordinate President, LAUX, Lady Nonye Okafor, who joined the Grand in offering their support and blessings to the Grand President, Brigadier General P.M.C. Okeke, and the Grand Respected President, Lady Theresa Barong Akugbo, JP.
Their presence underscored the importance of this historic undertaking and reflected solidarity, unity, and a collective commitment to the Order’s continued growth and advancement.
Under the visionary and transformational leadership of the Grand President and the Grand Respected President, the Grand continues to pursue initiatives to strengthen its structures, advance its mission, and secure a lasting legacy for future generations.
The groundbreaking of the Grand Temple represents more than the beginning of a physical structure. It symbolizes the faith, commitment, and shared vision of members working together to build an enduring home for the Grand’s activities and future aspirations.
Members and well-wishers gathered in thanksgiving and hope, trusting in God’s grace for the project’s successful commencement, development, and eventual completion.
A major highlight of the ceremony was the Noble Investiture of Sisters who have attained 20 years in the Order.
The special recognition honoured their years of dedication, loyalty, commitment and invaluable service to the Order. Their contributions remain a testament to the enduring spirit of sisterhood and to the values upon which the organization stands.
The occasion therefore combined celebrating past service with building a future legacy, recognizing those who have faithfully served while laying the foundation for generations to come.
